On Thursday, October 2 and Friday, October 3, 2025, District Attorney Jared Effler and his staff, in collaboration with the Children's Centers of the 8th Judicial District, hosted the Tenth Annual Dixie Roofing Clays for Children Sporting Clays Tournament at Iron Mountain Sporting Clays in Kodak, Tennessee. The purpose of the event was to raise money to support the Children's Centers of the 8th Judicial District, which consists of Campbell, Claiborne, Fentress, Scott and Union counties. With 158 teams and 611 individual shooters participating, this year's event was the largest to date and the largest tournament ever hosted at Iron Mountain.
The 8th Judicial District Children's Centers serve hundreds of children each year and work closely with local law enforcement and the District Attorney General's Office. They assist with medical examinations, forensic interviews, counseling and legal proceedings. The services provided by the centers help ensure that perpetrators of crimes against children receive justice and help victims navigate the court system and obtain the resources they need.
District Attorney Jared Effler stated, “Words are simply not enough to express my gratitude for the generosity and dedication of everyone who helped make this year's event such a success! Law enforcement, local businesses, corporations, service providers and individuals all deserve recognition for their good work.”
The County Attorney General's Office is pleased to announce that this year's Dixie Roofing Clays for Children Sporting Clays Tournament raised $115,000! This money will ensure that our children's centers can continue their worthy mission of helping abused and neglected children. Next year's event will take place on Thursday, October 1st and Friday, October 2nd, 2026.
