15 new designs for Halloween 2025

McDonald's has brought back its spookiest merch – and there are two newcomers we can welcome to the spooky squad.

The fast food giant's Happy Meal Boo Buckets returned to restaurants nationwide on October 21st.

This year's range includes a trio of returning themed buckets – Ghost, Pumpkin and Goblin – as well as two new “Ghoulie friends”: Cat and Zombie. Each bucket features three different designs (featuring “scary, crazy and cute expressions”), giving a total of 15 faces to collect this year. Kids can also decorate their buckets with Halloween stickers.

Last year's boos led to boos

This year's designs appear to be a return to form. In 2024, the company redesigned the buckets, which led to criticism on social media. Although they are not exact replicas of buckets from years past, the latest designs are more similar to those from 2023.

As in previous years, the Halloween buckets will only be available with Happy Meal orders and will temporarily replace the classic Happy Meal boxes.

Burger King and Wendy's also have Halloween specials

McDonald's is coming relatively late to the spooky season. Last month, Burger King announced its first-ever Monster Menu, featuring four creature-inspired variations of menu items as well as a Halloween-themed King Jr. menu complete with collectible Scooby-Doo-themed toys.

BK has also released its own limited edition Halloween bucket, which will be available at participating restaurants starting October 13th while supplies last.

Meanwhile, for a limited time, Wendy's is offering the Frosty Frights Kids' Meal, which offers the choice of a 4-piece chicken nugget, a hamburger or cheeseburger, as well as Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or Apple Bites and a kids' drink. Kids can collect up to 12 Frosty-inspired toys from the meal.
