5 things to do this weekend in the Louisville area from June 21 to June 22 | Community events

Louisville, Ky. (WDRB) – The weekend is just around the corner, and there are many things to do and see throughout Kentuckiana.

Here you will find a selection of events, markets, concerts and more that take place Saturday, June 21 to Sunday, June 22, 2025.


The Paristown fled returned to Brent Street this weekend.

Discover a treasure with vintage finds, funky junk and unique curiosities from a number of providers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, from a series of providers.

Guests can buy a versatile mixture of providers that offer Art -Deco pieces, houseplants, repeated goods, books and much more viny runs, antique furniture.

Regardless of whether you are an experienced collector or just search for something unexpected, Paristown Flea is your goal for all unique, nostalgic and wonderfully unusual things.

The market takes place every third Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the 731 Brent Street directly outside the downtown Louisville in the Paristown Pointe district.

The next markets are planned for: August 16, September 20 and October 18.


The Kentuckiana Pride Foundation is celebrating its 25th anniversary and Pride month with its annual festival and parade this weekend.

Kentuckiana Pride begins on Saturday, June 21, with the lunch parade with the Pride Parade.

The annual parade begins in Market Street and in Campbell Street and then drives to the Preston Street in Market Street. It will drive along the Preston Street on the Louisville Slugger Field and then the River Road before it ends at the Big Four Lawn.

The celebrations will continue after the parade on the Big Four Lawn near Waterfront Park until 10 p.m.

The Kentuckiana Pride Foundation starts the parade and the festival every year and also celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The organizers joined the WDRB morning on Thursday to talk about the importance of the event this year.

“The atmosphere in which we live today and the people, and the basic financing is cut off due to this,” said Tim Weyrauch proudly with Kentuckiana. “For this reason, the festival and the parade are a way to get together to celebrate, bring together community, and hopefully collect some money to give something back to this community.”

Natasha Bedingfield is the festival's concert this year. Other artists and actors are Saucy Santana, Tanner Adell, Grant Knoche, Molly Grace, GSP + Dan Slater, Relaay and voices from Kentuckiana.

“Rupauls Drag Race” stars Nina West and Naysha Lopez will also make special appearances.

Louisville Drag Queen and “Rupaul's drag race” Alaun Dusty Ray Bottoms will house together with Kassandra Hylton and Leah Halston. DJs include DJ Springbreak and DJ SCZ.

Yew dell Botanical Gardens will organize a free community day this weekend to celebrate the reopening of the renovated castle gardens.

A project of 5.1 million US dollars converted the legendary castle area into a beautiful, fully accessible garden destination.

Managers said the project “improves the visitor experience with carefully designed gardens, water features and expanded educational rooms and at the same time honored the historical character of the location.”

The Community Day will take place on Sunday, June 22nd, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in Yew Dell Botanical Gardens in the 6220 Old Lagrange RD. In Crestwood, Kentucky.

The SECOND Street Neighborhood Historical Association is organizing its annual Old Louisville Garden Tour this weekend.

The hike takes place every June and leads the guests through the private green rooms of the country's largest Victorian residential area in Old Louisville.

Gardeners will “share their personal retreat, hidden behind the stately Victorian mansions and protected by wine walls and data protection fences”.

The tour is planned for Saturday and Sunday, June 21st to 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Churchill Downs will mark this weekend with the last Downs after Dark Celebration for Saturday, June 21st.

The topic of the night is “a Caribbean night in the races”, which brings “the lively spirit of the islands” to the historic race track.

The participants are invited to dress on the subject, with bright colors, airy fabrics and brave accessories examples include flowing dresses, funny prints and statement pieces.

The 11 Race program begins at 6 p.m., addressed by the $ 300,000 Chicago Stakes (class II), which is planned as race 9 at 10:11 p.m.

On the route, guests can enjoy a variety of Caribbean-inspired entertainment, including dance hours with Afro-Caribbean dance movements, palm readings under the Twin Spiers, an Airbrush station from Bluegrass Airbrush and a limbo competition on the beach.

The night is closed with a sunset party with fire dancers and stilt hikers.

Live music begins at 5 p.m. with Ben Bernhard, followed by DJ Brandon Lee at 8 p.m.
