Vvhisper House / Atelier three

VVISPHER HOUSE, a project by Atelier Bertiga in Pondok Indah, Jakarta, illustrates a thoughtful examination of space requirements and environmental optimization. This house includes the concept of the fluid of wind and is intended to bring a natural air flow through porous elements and offer passive cooling without dependence on artificial systems. The design is located on a 400 square meter plot of land and combines curved accents from the original structure of the 1980s and preserves two large trees that serve as essential elements in the landscape.

The transformation of Whisper House deals with complex functional needs that are expressed in a two-story structure that swings with a resort-like ambience. Inner and outdoor areas combine seamlessly, especially with a centrally placed pool. This pool not only serves an aesthetic purpose, but also acts as a “thermal battery”, circulates cool air throughout the house and improves thermal comfort. A large emptiness in the middle of the building facilitates the cross ventilation and enables an optimal air flow in both levels.

Visually, Whisper House keeps some classic elements from the old structure, including dynamic curves on the facade. The roof, which also serves as a facade, contains perforated panels and lambs, which improves the air flow and at the same time adds characteristic aesthetics. On the ground floor there are life, dining and kitchen areas in the private section, while the upper floor serves as a private zone with the main bedroom, the children's rooms and a work area.

Whisper House emphasizes the simplicity with slightly available materials that still convey character. With its reserved, but thoughtful details, this design creates a warm and comfortable ambience that harmonizes with nature and the surrounding area and at the same time emphasizes a healthy, environmentally friendly home concept for its residents.
