Fences were damaged in the St. John's Schilton Hills, Northcote, Columbia and East Oakridge neighborhoods.
Suspects destroyed PVC fences, causing thousands of dollars in damage, police said.
Police said they suspect it was part of a social media challenge called the “Kool-Aid Man.”
The social media challenge involves people breaking through fences, similar to the Kool-Aid mascot crashing through walls.
St. John Police urged residents to check surveillance cameras for any suspicious people, vehicles or activity.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 219-365-6032.
