Give us the Skinny

Melbourne Place is a seductive new design hotel in Melbourne's CBD. The warm and sultry look is the kind permission of the architecture and design company Kennedy Nolan based in Melbourne. The hotel's brick facade is a hat ship for the characteristics of the city's Victorian era, while its interiors contain wall-to-wall examples for contemporary Australian art and artisans. The open-air restaurant and the bar in the bar, Mid Air, has already become a gram-worthy venue for the “eyes” of the masonry portals, which perfectly frame the skyline.
The mood
Chic and urban. It is a relatively small boutique with 191 rooms and two independent eating shops, each of which is their own mood (a breakdown of the following). The hotel is difficult and artistic and has caused a stir in the first few months, especially in the middle of the roof.
The location

This is the perfect place in the city for transport and accessibility. It is located in the eastern part of “Hoddle Grid” (which is called CBD), a 10-minute walk from the Flinders Street Railway Station (Melbourne's Key Navigational landmark) and two blocks from Collins Street, where you can catch a tram to Fitzroy. Go a few blocks north and you are in Chinatown or go west to buy the Bourke Street. The CBD is not that big, but if it rains windy and raining, they will be happy that they have remained somewhere near transport and shopping centers corridors.
The rooms
I stayed in a urban corner room on the 14th floor, whereby the sunshine flooded through the floor to the ceiling. There are three room colors on the Melbourne Place and Mine is “Lama” – a golden/brown palette that feels warm. The design details include a fluffy chair by Jardan Bear, shiny art books on the coffee table and a Konkaver Spiegel that hangs on a exposed pillar. There is plenty of space for clothing and luggage in Jarrah-Wood clothing cabinets, and in the free minibar there are premium teas and gourmet sweets. With simple tablet-controlled tech in the room and a huge king-size bed in fret bed linen everything seems to be built individually so that I don't want to go.
Hidden around the corner of my room (all rooms are different in layout) is a spacious marble rain shower with Aesop toilet articles, although everyday rooms with leif -atriads and terrazzo flows vanity. The toilet is located in a separate compartment with a floor-to-ceiling door, of which the editors unanimously believe that the hotel standard should be the hotel.
On my tour through the hotel, I looked into the penthouse, which can only be referred to as a “rock star”. A spacious, single-glass open-plan corner suite with a lot of low, sexy seating and a baby Grand Piano looked a look to be a party painter. Maybe in my next life …
The amount
A mixture of well -dressed city people and travelers. I see young specialists, pairs of influencer, silver-haired sightseeers, local suits and various trendy dressed people for over 24 hours. There is not really a common room for the guests who mix outside the dining areas. So when I say “audience” I mean the people who come and go through the lobby.
The food & drink
Mid Air serves drinks and gourmet plates with a skyline view and is already a popular fresco. It is a great place for aperitifs, digestifs, aperitivo or an served lunch – and there are many covered seating when Melbournes does not play well.
Breakfast in Mid Air is a la carte, and the food on the 12th floor with a view of the city was a fantastic start in my day. But on another level our dinner was in Mammelo. In Portuguese, market-inspired, wood and char grill plates came out in a quick succession, and Cava was intuitively fresh after every glass through a smiling Somm, while an open kitchen happily buzzed in the background. We liked the juicy, wood -roasted cockerel with African spices and the tender Rangers Valley Wagyu.
Would we visit again?

We can definitely see each other again in Jam and use drinks in the middle of the air before dinner. We also recommend a stay in the Melbourne Place for couples who want to have a hedonistic weekend hiding place (the municipal soac rooms have a tub that is big enough for two) and everyone who wants a great design in the heart of the city. Families or groups that need additional beds or connecting rooms, or travelers who want full luxury applications such as a wellness center and a pool, find more suitable options in the city.
