With its latest start, the post-design collective, based in Toronto, presents a carefully curated collection of 18 outstanding furniture that seamlessly mix the modern form and historical responsibility. Regardless of whether it is a restored vintage find that is created a new life or a contemporary piece in cooperation with emerging designers, each object reflects the demanding approach of the collective. “We would not publish these pieces if we don't want them in our own home,” says co -founder JP Guay, whose team is proud to ensure that each piece takes its own aesthetic sensitivity before offering it to the public.

Maralunga loves Vico Magistretti for Cassina in Peanut Cord
The Maralunga Loveseat, which was designed by Vico Magistretti in 1973, is an Italian design classic and is part of MoMA's permanent collection. This edition, which was padded in peanut cordeloy, was refreshed by Atelier 94b in Montreal with new foam and back theory. The patented adjustable headrests enable seamless shift between the replacement positions, which makes it a timeless, yet functional piece.
S1 Lounge Chair in stainless steel by Oscar Guzman for Osla
The S1 Lounge Chair was designed by Oscar Guzman for Osla and mixes brutalist aesthetics with precision technology. It is made of recyclable stainless steel and has a flexible backrest and an intuitive weight distribution for comfort. “The S1 lounge chair is the first piece that we offer as a tailor-made design that is available in a number of surfaces,” says Guay. Only available in Canada via the collective after the design, it receives in Bauhaus-inspired surfaces such as raw, white, black, gray, crimson, mustard and cobalt.
MP-51 Lounge Chair by Percival Lafer for Furniture Lafer
Percival Lafers MP-51 Lounge chair from the 1970s from the 1970s dates from Brazilian rosewood and retains its original buttery leather padding. With a striking shape and seating in the hammock style, this Brazilian design icon from the middle of the century was reinforced for an upright posture, which guarantees both style and durability.
Walnut Burl Dining table by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin
This minimalist and yet most striking dining table by Walnut Burl by Milo Baughman has a patchwork top and a neatly lined rectangular shape. The procurement process of Post Design Collective is as thoughtful as its selection. While vintage stays at the center of its offer, the studio takes up a new direction with designer cooperations and pieces.
“We are now working with designers to offer pieces that can be available continuously,” explains Guay. “Vintage becomes more difficult to find and we would like to make sure that we can offer a great design all year round.”
