Community committees, railways and commissions are a great way to get involved with the local government. The city has several council groups appointed by council recipients that make recommendations to the city council or the urban administrative staff. Applications are accepted for the advisory committee for affordable housing, environmental and climate army, landmarks commission and transport bond committee as well as the Buddan Planning organization and the technical advisory committees of the Bend -Metropolitan Planning organization. The members of the advisory corporation are entitled to a scholarship (40 US dollars/meeting, not over 500 US dollars per year) in order to reduce the participation after participating (see information below). The applications are due on May 15, 2025 to 5 p.m.

Affordable housing advisory committee
The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) offers the city council of guidelines, code and financing recommendations to match the goals described in the city Consolidated plan. The city of Bend will consider people with credit and financing experience to fill a partial term (at the end of July 2026). Members can apply for a re -hiring for up to two consecutive terms of three years without partially taking terms into account. Environmental and climate protection committee
The main focus of the environmental and climate protection committee (ECC) is on the provision of input and recommendations for the city council on topics in connection with environmental responsibility and to monitor the implementation of the Community climate action planadopted in December 2019.
The committee consists of people who have lived in the following topics or specialist knowledge or specialist knowledge or expertise: energy efficiency, renewable energies, energy -efficient structure, environmental justice, equity in environmental administration and sustainability, alternative means of transport and mobility, energy policy, environmental policy, forestry, water resources, ecology, other life science, reduction in carbon emissions. The environmental and climate committee is looking for applicants to fill two partial office connections (at the end of January 2027 and January 1, 2029). Members can apply for reinforcement for up to two consecutive four -year term without partial considering terms.

Landmark commission
The candidates for the Landmarks Commission must be a community member who lives within the Bend Urban Growth border with interest in architecture, history, architecture history, planning, prehistoric and historical archeology, folklore, cultural anthropology, curation, nature conservation, landscape architecture or related disciplines. The city invites interested community members to take part in one of the regular monthly Landmarks Commission meetings to learn more about the work in the Commission. The meetings will take place on the third Tuesday of each month in the town hall at 6 p.m. Please check the city of bend calendar For details.
The Landmarks Commission is looking for candidates to fill a partially alternative term (at the end of January 2028). Alternatives for this commission play an active role and can take part in a consideration. Alternatives can be counted as part of the quorum and can vote if your participation is required to create a quorum. Please note that alternatives for the scholarship program are not justified.

Supervisory committee for transport and bonds
The surveillance committee for transport bonds (TBOC) advises the city council of Bend and the urban employees on the implementation of the $ 190 million recognized voter bond 2020 for transport obligations. The implementation supervision currently includes the guarantee of transparency and accountability compared to the program and project provision, recommendations to the city council for project prioritization in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and the recommendations to the city council for program and project considerations, as requested. Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization Household Committee and Technical Consulting Committee
The Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) Working cooperatively with the local governments in order to determine priorities for the transport needs, and is with the maintenance and implementation of a “continuous, cooperative and comprehensive” regional transport planning process for the Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization Area. The BMPO is looking for applicants to fill two jobs (3 years) in the BMPO household committee and a vacancy (3-year-office) of the BMPO Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
The BMPO household committee usually occurs once a year to check the proposed examination Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization Budget And give a recommendation to the Policy board. Members of the BMPO budget committee are not entitled to receive a scholarship for committee services.
The Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization TAC As a rule, meet once a month and offer technical analyzes, review, comments and recommendations for BMPO plans, programs, studies and questions.

Scholarship
The city of Bend offers a scholarship program for the urban advisory committees, a committee and the members of the Commission voting voting, who opt for participation. It is intended to expand the opportunities to connect with the city to members of the community and lower the obstacles to the commitment. The program will provide members of advisory bodies, committees and commissions of the city with a scholarship of $ 40 per session that exceed $ 500 per person annually. This scholarship covers the costs for volunteer work in a consulting group such as travel, parking spaces, stable internet connection and other expenses.
