Spokans, Washington – children with mental or physical disabilities can usually be counted from playing a sport.

With Bambino Buddy Ball – the sky is the border.

The division with Spokane Indians Youth Baseball enables strenuous athletes with mental or physical challenges to snap a glove and swing for fences.

The division flourishes in the 18th season and welcomes to a large amount on Sunday for the opening day. Leslie Sigrah is a main organizer of the Buddy Ball program. She said that the commitment was simple that hits near home.

“Both children have disabilities. My eldest son was diagnosed by six and they told me that he would never do sports and when I grew up, they were a large part of my world,” said Sigrah. “So I only decided that I would find a way for my child to do sports.”

It not only gave a platform for her children, but also for families and children in the entire northwest of the country.

Buddy Ball fits a “buddy” with a player and lets the buddy help throughout the game. He teaches her athlete how to hold a glove, swing a racket and has a great sportiness on the way.

The division organizes eight teams this season. At their climax they were at 14. That is a number that Leslie said she wanted to return, but always needs buddies to step on the plate.

“We will take everyone who has a heart, a little patience and a glove,” said Sigra.
