QLD vote for the state's best landscape architecture

The Queensland Chapter of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (Aila) will celebrate the leading examples of the state architecture on Thursday, June 12th in Blackbird, in the central business district of Brisbane.

“I can assure queenslanders that they have a hard time narrowing the field to a favorite design!” says chairman of the jury of Aila Queensland, David Hatherly.

“All this year's entries show a high degree of creativity and sensitivity to their locations, essential ingredients for the most successful and natural landscapes.”

The public vote is now open to the People's Choice Award and offers residents the opportunity to support and correct their favorite landscape architecture project.

Voters can choose from 52 projects in a wide range of categories, including citizen landscape, community contribution, gardens, health and educational landscape, infrastructure, land management, landscape planning, parks and open spaces, scope, small projects, tourism and urban design.

Landscape architects design natural environments such as parks, districts, wetlands and gardens, which contribute to stronger local economy through increased visits, improved real estate values ​​and creation of jobs.

Well -designed landscapes are accessible, sustainable and show around land. In the best case, the landscape architecture can improve the well-being of the community and at the same time support the renewal and protection of plant and animal species.
