If you post @gardening.ish.ish.ish at the Instagram account, the professional announced that you only need two articles to make the fence from scratch – and it is easier than you may think.
In the viral video, he explained that everyone who wants to create their own fence needs either some scrap or 2×2 as well as some garden wire.
Both can be bought from B&Q at a relatively low price, depending on how big you want your fence to be natural.
ISH managed to pick up its wood for just £ 7 and pay £ 2 for his garden wire.
As soon as you have cut your wood to size, it is time to plant it in the ground.
The garden professional explained that this also depends on how high you want, how high your privacy is, but he wanted his 40 cm in the ground. So he made sure that it was cut to 2.4 m so that the overall fence is 2 m tall.
In addition to the two side posts, ISH also added two smaller pieces of wood for the top and underside of the fence.
As soon as the wood was connected, the garden, which simply drilled holes along the sides, drilled so that the wire is converted – so its plants grow up the fence.
At this point, the fence is ready to expand your garden wherever you want more privacy.
ISH suggested attaching it to existing fence posts for additional stability, but if not only ensure that it is firmly in the ground.
The last step is to add the plants to fill the gaps in the data protection fence.
The horticulture suggested rapidly growing climbing plants such as clematis or hook, or if it is in a shady place, ISH recommended that climbing climb.
“When the leaves begins, the wire starts to disappear slowly and they are blessed with this beautiful green wall,” said the professional.
After shared the hack in social media colleagues garden fans, fans loved the idea.
One said: “What a great idea in a budget, thank you!”
“This is a great idea,” agreed a second, “and so very helpful, given the low costs and effectiveness.”
This is how you create privacy in your garden
The creation of privacy in your garden can be achieved in different ways depending on the budget and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to improve privacy in your garden:
1. Fencing
- Install a high, solid wood or vinyl fence. This is one of the simplest ways to win immediate privacy. Or use grid panels, grids or grinding fences to give a decorative note and at the same time offer privacy.
2. Hedges and plants
- Rapidly growing evergreen shrubs or trees such as Leylandii, Thuja or Bambus along the border of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge with plants like Boxwood, Private or Laurel. Growth can take time, but it offers a natural and green data protection screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis or Wisteria on fences or grids to create a lush, green privacy.
3. Outdoor curtains
- Hang outdoor curtains on pergolas, pavilions or patos to get a slightly adequate data protection solution.
4. Sound barriers
- A water well or a small waterfall can help drown noise and increase the feeling of privacy. Or install fences to reduce the noise if the privacy from sound is also a problem.
Top garden trends from 2025
Garden experts at Barnsdale Gardens shared the top garden trends from 2025.
Matrix planting
It seems that a top plant trend for this year will be matrix planting.
Essentially plants in groups or blocks to be wild while it is actually carefully managed.
The selection of the plants is essential to interest flowers, seed heads or frosted/snow -covered flower heads all year round. Some recommend using plants that are implementing, but this could make it more difficult to manage your matrix to stay under control.
Chrysantheme comeback
I hope that the modest chrysant issue this year will make a comeback like Dahlias in recent years because the simple individual flowering types such as “Innocence” and “Cottage Apricot” would be spectacular within a matrix scheme.
The robust varieties are so easy to grow in a sunny place and to give such a valuable outbreak of late summer and autumn colors, which would raise all the blunt-looking border.
Mixed borders
We have been promoting vegetables within the decorative borders for some time, and I think that could really start this year.
The choice of varieties available in seed catalogs for decorative -looking varieties is phenomenal, and if they are properly managed, the visitors of their garden will not even recognize that they grow the vegetables!
Must-have
My secret is out. I discovered the Hori Hori a few years ago and now it also seems that everyone else.
It is such a well-made, adaptable tool that can be used as a basement or weed tool in the garden, and anyone with whom I speak to them absolutely does not use it would be without it. Enough said!
