The Hawai'i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has partnered with Sustainability Partners to open a new electric vehicle charging station at Aloha Tower Marketplace on O'ahu. This station is the second to be funded under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program and represents an important step in expanding Hawaii's sustainable transportation infrastructure. The electric vehicle charging station features four 150 kW DC fast chargers and is designed to provide convenience for residents and visitors in a popular area while supporting the state's goal of achieving a carbon neutral economy by 2045.
The NEVI program, part of the U.S. government's broader effort to accelerate electric vehicle adoption and reduce emissions, provides the necessary funding to build a national network of chargers. HDOT's initiative to create 11 NEVI stations statewide is consistent with its commitment to cleaner energy solutions.
