Operation Midway Blitz immigration efforts that burden the resources of the broad police in the areas of protests; Village is looking for help from the state

Broadview, Ill. (WLS) – A village spokesman says that Broadview is in conversations with governor JB Pritzker's office for the support of backups for protests in the US immigration and customs settlement center.

On June 6th, demonstrators filled the street in front of the immigration facility in the suburb and demanded the release of a woman who was summarized two days earlier during a raid on South Michigan Avenue.

The federal immigration agents have made numerous calls to the Broadview police in recent months to demand backup.

The I team received a number of these recorded calls for a request from the Freedom of Information Act.

Federal agents relegated massively in the Chicago region at the beginning of September.

The so -called “Operation Midway Blitz,” says Broadview, has almost maximized her police.

“It takes pretty much 75% of my workforce to ensure proper demonstration,” Thomas Mills, head of Broadview Police Department, told the I team.

Chief Mills says that they had to rely on the help of the neighboring departments.

Last Friday, a spokesman for the home protection authority “Rioters attacked the law enforcement authorities … The police under JB Pritzker's sanctuary law refused to answer several help for support.”

“I am disappointed that they would say because it is not true,” said Chief Mills.

But with little relief, the village is now asking for state help.

“Things have really risen in the past three weeks. So now we are reaching more resource inquiries. It is right now that the question is bigger,” said Mills.

The ice processing center now guarded an extra high fences.

After a fatal attack by a sniper in an ICE facility in Dallas, the boss -criminal prosecution expert from ABC7 Chicago, Derek Mayer, says the fences are absolutely necessary.

“What I do with my company with my customers is that we talk about the changing room further. We have to secure everything. So, so, only push our security measures to the outside world,” said Mayer.

According to the Broadview Fire Marshal, this high fences “block every emergency reaction to the area”.

After talking to the governor's office in the past 48 hours, the village of Broadview informed the I-Team that it was looking forward to supporting state support beyond the mutual help of the state police and neighboring agencies.
