Researchers at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, have started a multi -year project to develop new plastic types that can be used for a wide range of applications. Then all of this can be recycled in a single basic material for reuse, reported the McKelvey School of Engineering.

According to the university, less than a third of the waste materials are currently being recycled in the USA. While a large part of the waste that goes to landfills or becomes garbage is the result of a lack of education or effort, there is a big problem in plastic recycling.

Although plastic can be seen as a category of materials, it consists of a series of chemical formulas with an incredible number of additives and dyes. These different plastics cannot be recycled-not only because they produce inferior materials, but also because different types of plastic need different recycling processes, and a single piece of the wrong plastic types can also mess up a whole batch.

A new frame for plastic products in which all plastics come from a common resource pool and would save an incredible money via a single recycling process without a costly, chaotic sorting. This would also reduce waste across the board, prevent massive amount of garbage and reduce the pollution by the production of new plastic.

That is what this project is aimed at. Christopher Cooper, Assistant Professor of Energy, Environment and Chemical Engineering at Washu; Brooks Abel, assistant professor of chemistry at the University of California Berkeley; And Debra Audus and Sara Orski from the National Institute of Standards and Technology accepted a grant of almost 1.4 million US dollars from the National Science Foundation to use artificial intelligence to design a variety of sustainable plastic polymers that can easily be returned to a monomer.

“This work will generate new synthetic strategies for the control chain end and side chain functionality, the branch type and the frequency as well as the dynamic binding installation for polymers that are generated by cationic ring opening polymerization,” said Cooper.

The efficient heating and cooling of Mitsubishi Electric Heating and cooling can remain comfortable regardless of the weather or region. You can even regulate the temperatures in any room with individually controlled clean -electric heat pump systems.

With an energy-efficient all-climate system from Mitsubishi, you can reduce the amount of energy that is required to heat and cool your house, get up to $ 2,000 in tax credits, and calm down if you know that you choose strictly tested high-quality products.

“At the same time, a KI informed by physics is continuously improved by active learning approaches and then used to create reverse design to create new ones [architecturally diverse and deconstructable] Polymers. These add -on polymers are developed to achieve targeted properties within certain tolerances and are validated against industry benchmarks. “
