At every homecoming since 1995, someone secretly drags a pumpkin to the top of the University of Montana's main hall spire and sticks it up there for all to see and few to know who put it there.
This year, in the tradition's 30th year, a person who was involved in the pumpkin pandemic but supposedly never had the “cojones” to attempt the climb himself shared a few insider secrets. However, we're not sure we believe he never did it, as he certainly seemed to know a lot about things like the hidden fire escape, the slippery green roof, the lookout, secret teamwork, and more.
However, although no one has ever confessed, the university has tried to take steps to keep the tradition alive in a safer way, but the Great Pumpkin Heist remains an unsolved mystery carried out by secret students!
