As 2025 draws to a close, many are preoccupied with forecasting home trends for the new year. To help you stay informed, Yelp just released its Home and Living Trends 2026 report. The report shows that personal expression and creativity shape the way people design and enjoy their homes – a sentiment that was popular in 2025 and will continue into the next calendar year. The data shows that homeowners and renters prefer spaces that feel sentimental and serene rather than standard. Ahead, we're sharing with you the five home trends that Yelp says will be everywhere next year.
Gallery walls

Homes in 2026 are expected to feel more personal and more accurately reflect the lives and styles of their owners. According to Yelp's report, the gallery wall is at the forefront of this personal storytelling movement: searches for “custom framing near me” increased by 329 percent and “specialized framing services” increased by 63 percent.
If you're looking to create a gallery wall for your home, Yelp trend expert Tara Lewis says a curated look is about combining memories with unique finds that stay true to you. She recommends looking for frames at thrift stores and rummaging through your own memory drawer for photos or personal memorabilia.
Statement stairs

Stairs are so much more than just utilitarian, a sentiment that more homeowners will share in 2026 when eye-catching stairs take center stage. According to the Yelp report, homeowners prefer bold fabrics, wood repair projects and playful details like tile risers and bold paint colors.
To transform your stairs, Lewis recommends wallpapering risers or adding a removable runner to add a touch of pattern. She points out that these subtle changes are perfect for renters or anyone looking for a quick change. “Even if you don't have stairs, you can achieve the wow factor in the entryway with statement rugs, removable floor tiles, and details like wall sconces or a statement mirror to instantly elevate the space,” she says.

Bathrooms aren't just functional – they can also serve as a design moment and an opportunity to add character to your home. In 2026, Yelp predicts that more homeowners will outfit their bathrooms with vintage details that exude Old World charm, like pedestal sinks, brass faucets, colorful tiles, and claw-foot tubs.
Wellness rooms

Whether it's a weekly Pilates class or a strict nutritional supplement regimen, more and more people are placing value on their well-being. One way to continue this in 2026 is with home wellness rooms. According to Yelp, these spaces are all about creating a personal, practical retreat tailored to help you recharge.
Are you looking for inspiration for furnishing your wellness room? According to the report, searches for sauna facilities, cold plunge pools, a place for yoga and Pilates or a sound bath healing area are increasing, as is interest in home fitness facilities, used fitness equipment and gym equipment stores.
