SUMMERSET, SD – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will host a public open house on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (MT) to inform residents and business owners of the preliminary results of the Interstate 90 (Exit 48) Stagestop Road interchange modification study.

The open house for the public meeting will be held at Stagebarn Middle School, 12500 Sturgis Rd. in Summerset. A short presentation will take place at 5:45 p.m. The open day is informal and allows for one-on-one discussions with the design staff. SDDOT representatives will be available to answer questions, discuss the project and receive community input.

The purpose of the meeting is to share results of public input and technical reviews that will be used to identify a replacement alternative. The public meeting also provides an opportunity to obtain final comments before the study is completed. Residents, business owners and daily commuters are welcome to attend.

For those unable to attend or would like more information, please visit https://fhu.mysocialpinpoint.com/i-90-exit-48-interchange-study. Written comments will be accepted at the public meeting and via the website until Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Individuals requiring assistance under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) should contact the SDDOT ADA Coordinator (605-773-3540) two business days prior to the meeting to ensure accommodations are available. For any in-person gathering, individuals with disabilities will also be notified that the meeting will take place in a physically accessible location.
