Facilities and maintenance update: November/December 2025

Winter preparation, store remodeling and campus cleanup

As we approach the holidays, our facilities and maintenance teams continue to advance a variety of projects that will keep the Provo City School District running smoothly. From tree trimming in early November to major cleanups at Transportation, crews have continually improved campus and district properties.

Transportation: Site cleanup and property line work

Over the past few weeks, crews have spent a lot of time on the haulage facility – removing vegetation, pruning trees and shrubs, and clearing debris along the shared boundary between our site and the neighboring business to the south. The cleanup will improve visibility, safety and overall appearance ahead of the winter months. A full trailer load of green waste represents only part of the work completed so far, with more outdoor projects planned for the colder season.

Shop remodel progress

The teams are also in the middle of remodeling one of our retail spaces in our district. Walls have been repaired, patched, primed and painted, and old storage areas are being refreshed to create a cleaner and more efficient workspace. As work continues, more updates and photos will be collected to share with our community.

Centennial & Canyon Crest: Tree trimming and site work

Earlier this month, crews completed tree removal at Centennial Middle School to combat overgrowth and remove branches that were interfering with fences and surrounding vegetation. Additional trimming took place at Canyon Crest, with crews removing problematic branches to improve safety and preserve the landscape.

More winter projects are coming

As the leaves continue to fall and colder weather takes hold, Facilities and Maintenance will continue to actively work on outdoor cleanup, tree care and various improvement projects throughout the district. Your consistent commitment ensures that our campuses remain safe, attractive and ready for students and staff every day.

We appreciate their year-round commitment and look forward to providing further updates as these projects progress.
