Jonbon dominates in Clarence House Chase

Jonbon brought Energumene to submission to secure another fantastic triumph in the BetMGM Clarence House Chase at Ascot.

Nico de Boinville was positive from the start and quickly built a lead over the 8-13 favorite.

There was a point in the race where Nicky Henderson's attack at the fences was no longer as fluid, allowing Paul Townend to catch up to Energumene on the home straight.

But Jonbon stepped up his game and pulled himself together in the jumping department when it mattered most. He galloped on strongly and prevailed by six and a half lengths.

Owned by JP McManus, the nine-year-old took 17 wins from 20 regular races and cemented his position as favorite for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.
