The office and the landscape design of pole facilities are located on the property and make Hochcre a busy place on a daily breeze, while the studio of Ferreira in the nearby city of Knysna, where it also leads a collection of vases, furniture, glassware, cutlery and dishes for the events of their business, is also a handcan of activity. But the Highacre garden itself remains a focus. This is both your home and a place for events and guests, and you spend “as much time as possible here to ensure that it continuously develops, kept in a beautiful condition and is adequately encouraged”.
Unique and special places – especially gardens – cannot be launched overnight. It took many years to make it to create Highacre. As Stander and Ferreira explain: “We look at every room and project very carefully in terms of function and aesthetics before we manifest a room. Sometimes we look at a long time and when the installation takes place, it comes from all these thoughts, discussions and dreams.” Their combined aesthetic skills as well as goose of patience, commitment and hard work have made the development of this unique and special place possible, the “celebrates the botanical empire” in a way that are lucky to inspire and revitalize those who are lucky enough to visit for many years.
