Acresal Trains 55 Moderators on PRA for communities in Zamfara

In cooperation with the FOCAL NGO Health Standards Concern Organization (HECO), the state agricultural aglimatic Zamfara resilience in semi-ary-arid landscapes (Acrsal) has organized a training session for 55 moderators for participative rural permission (PRA) in order to promote sustainable development and resilience in local communities.

In his comments during the training in Gusau, the coordinator of the Zamfara State Project. Nasiuddeen Bello emphasized the commitment of the Acresal project for the support of communities through group dynamics and participative rural evaluation.

The state coordinator emphasized the importance of active participation and the need for moderators to cascade the knowledge that was obtained from community groups.

“This training, which 55 participants from two catchment areas in three local government areas (LGAS) – Bungudu, Gusau and Kaura Namoda – made to provide moderators with the necessary skills and knowledge in order to support communities in promoting sustainable development and resilience,” he said.

The executive director of Hesco, Abdullahi Bungudu, also said that interactive group work and role -playing exercises were used in order to evaluate the understanding and application of the concepts of the participants.

“With this training, the acoral project and HESCO want to improve the capacity of moderators in order to support municipalities in identifying and answering their needs, promoting sustainable development and building up resilience in semi-arid landscapes,” he explained.
