The July edition, which the winners of the Best of Alaska Business Reader Survey celebrated, showed an underwater scene by the artist Emily Longbrake. The play was inspired by archaeological research in the coastal caves of Southeast, in which the people of the ice age may have lived. Longbrake mixed the science with whims and stuffed its design after the illustrator Ed Emberleys Caldecott Medalenwerke and the Wher's Waldo series by Martin Hanford. The detailed images dare to check the viewers to check every square so that Longbrake populated a private fantasy world or “Parakosm”, as she calls it, with pucky examples of the best of Alaska Business at work.
