“An architect can help bring a dream to life”

"An architect can help bring a dream to life"

Advising a professional is the first step to draw your ideal living space from the areas of imagination.

This is the advice of one of the most famous architects in Ireland, dermot Bannon. “When advising a registered architect, homeowners can bring their dream to life, regardless of whether it is future -proof homeowners, an expansion or planning of a new build,” he says.

Dermot is not only a spokesman for the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (Riai) and is also an ambassador for the Simon community who organizes his annual Open Door event and is now returning for his 21st year.

The initiative offers home owners throughout Ireland a unique opportunity to obtain expert advice from Riai-registered architects, and collects funds to support organizations who work with people or have the risk of homelessness. In return for a donation of € 125, homeowners can book one -hour advice with a registered architect to discuss the house improvements, including construction, renovation, retrofitting or securing the future of their houses.

The Room to improve Star, who was involved in the campaign right from the start, has experienced first -hand how successful it can be for homeowners. “Over the years, the participants have received invaluable insights from these consultations,” he says. “You will not only receive expert advice that is tailored to your needs, but also access to innovative design solutions for your home.

“Homeowners benefit from great design advice and are satisfied to know that they contribute to a sensible cause that improves life in our society in need of protection.”

The focus on the upgrade and future houses is still because people try to design their houses more sustainable and adaptable to their future needs. The Riai Simon Open Door campaign is an excellent way to explore options and contribute to an important thing.

“For 21 years, registered architects have donated their time and expertise generously and helped the homeowners all over Ireland and at the same time collected important means for Simon Communities of Ireland. If you change your home, you can help change life.”

In the past 20 years, the Riai has collected almost 1.5 million euros through this campaign in the past 20 years. This year, the Riai Simon Open Door is to collect € 100,000 to support the most important services of the Simon Communities of Ireland.

About Grogan, Executive Director of Simon Communities of Ireland, adds: “The housing crisis in Ireland continues to increase the number of people and families in homelessness, whereby many are caught in emergency accommodation far too long.”

Since the start of the campaign, over 20,000 architects across Ireland have been involved with this initiative.
