BarberryThe aluminum and vinyl fences sold to residential and commercial markets across the country plans to invest 15 million US dollars and create 151 jobs by building a headquarters and a production center in Columbus County.

Barrier caught Supply Company started in the city supply company in Brunswick County as a fencing installation company and then switched to customers. The time of the company, taking into account the tariffs proposed by the Trump government, should work in his favor, says Gary Lanier, director of Columbus County's economic development.

“They produce their fence products off the coast and want to bring this production back to the USA,” says Lanier.

Barrier Faccing now employs around 35 people, says CEO Tony Bowling, who founded the company in January 2023 after working for other fencing companies for about 20 years. Barrier will keep a sales system in supply, he says. The company now receives its products from South and Central America, Canada and Asia.

The average content for the new jobs is $ 44,114. According to the Ministry of Commerce, the current average wage in Columbus County is $ 44,081. These jobs will help Columbus County, says Lanier.

“The effect on the community and the county is enormous,” says Lanier. Barrier Foncing expects that in Chadbourn, about 50 miles east of the supplier, and near the future Interstate 74, Lanier says.

“Our goal is to generate employment, to support the needy and to make a meaningful difference in the community,” says Bowling in a press release.

A performance-oriented subsidy of $ 275,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help to facilitate Barrier Finging's project in Columbus County. Companies do not receive any money in advance and have to meet the goals for creating jobs and capital investments in order to qualify for payment. OneC subsidies require a suitable grant from the local governments.
