The Sydney Harbour project designed by Renzo Piano redefines the luxurious high-rise with its architectural precision and sustainability focus. Horiso worked with Guthrie Douglas to deliver over 7,500 customer -tensioning systems that were seamlessly integrated into the building's pioneering cavity. With the help of CR88 performance substances, the systems achieved optimal solar control and environmental output and supported the vision of the project of innovative, highly functioning and visually coherent design.
Rigorous prototyping and wind tunnel tests ensured that the shading systems under extreme wind loads, which are specific for the open cavity facade, were an Australian first. The close spatial restrictions on the facade precisely called for engineering and tailor -made solutions based on the Tess 600 system, which enabled clean integration without affecting the architectural intention. The result is a shading solution that complements the elegant shapes of the towers and at the same time improves comfort, energy efficiency and performance of facades and illustrates synergy between architecture and environmental technology.
