Chapter is a New York-based strategic communications consultancy working with architects, landscape architects, designers and building products.
We are currently looking for an Associate (or Senior Associate) to join our growing company. The team member would be responsible for servicing accounts across the company's customer portfolio. This individual will focus primarily on working with architects, landscape architects, design brands and products, helping to develop and implement comprehensive communications, PR and marketing strategies with a focus on strengthening business development goals alongside the Chapter team.
Main tasks:

Manage accounts across the company portfolio in collaboration with co-founders.

Create pitches, help implement media strategies and identify trends for client projects. Pitch media and build relationships with key writers/editors.

Support editorial initiatives for clients: project briefs, award submissions, executive biographies, blog posts, pitch decks, press releases

Schedule meetings with journalists, both on behalf of clients and for networking.

Keep up to date with architecture, design, culture, travel media/writers/editors; Review magazines to gain a comprehensive knowledge of current events, trends, and comparable companies, designers, and institutions.

Identify key authors/editors/publications to consider for client projects; Implement systems to track research, both in architectural publications and general media.

Support the implementation or strategy for the client's social media initiatives: writing copy, identifying images, scheduling posts, brainstorming compelling ideas (primarily for Instagram).

Maintain a list of relevant awards and stay up to date on important award deadlines. Assist in writing copy and gathering materials for submission.
- Manage tracking and project summary documents for client projects and meetings.
Qualifications:

BA or MA in Architectural History/Design/Art/Art History/Communication or other related field

2-4 years of professional experience, preferably some management experience

Strong interest in design, architecture and writing
- Exceptional organizational skills; Experience using project management software and systems

Understanding of the architectural media landscape as well as general interests/design/art/culture outlets

Close relationships with editors/freelance journalists in related areas: architecture, art, general media

Team player who can support the company's entire customer portfolio with pitching and brainstorming ideas

Experience in customer management

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Full-time employment: Mon – Fri, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in person at our NoMad office.
