Nikorndej stressed that the Thai side would not raise the issue for discussion but would only inform the assembly for its information.
As a point of discussion, Thailand will raise the issue of Cambodian incursions into the villages of Ban Nong Chan and Ban Nong Ya Kaew in Sa Kaeo Province.
He said the Thai side will urge Cambodia to immediately resolve the issue of incursions and take measures to prevent further violations of Thai territory in the future.
The JBC is an important bilateral mechanism between the two countries to address and resolve border-related issues. Its main and most technical role is to oversee joint surveys, demarcations and the installation of border markers along the land border based on existing treaties and agreements.
