The ISIDE house is designed as a house that shifts identity with the death of the day, camouflages itself in daylight in the forest and becomes a radiant presence after dark. Its reflective surfaces and steamed surfaces reflect the surrounding trees and make the structure almost invisible until the interior lighting turns them into a glowing lantern. The design sets a dialog between covering and display so that the house can change with its surroundings.
The interior emphasizes natural materials such as wood and stone, which are framed by extensive glass panes that connect directly to the landscape. Minimalist details ensure that the views of the forest are of central importance for the experience of life inside. By integrating lighting as a functional and symbolic feature, ISIDE shows how architecture seamlessly merge with its setting and at the same time offers a spectacle. The result is a place of residence that embodies subtlety, transformation and an intimate connection to nature.
