Gardening warned to avoid lawns at certain times of the day in June

When summer approaches, gardeners in Great Britain prepare their gardens for social meetings. Tasks such as deadheading, pruning and cleaning terraces and fences are on the agenda, and many can be tried to give their lawns a quick disguise.

Since the higher temperatures from June let the grass grow faster, it is likely that lawns require more frequent mowing.

However, an expert warns that mowing her lawn may damage your grass at certain times of the day. Chris Cooper from Hayter, a British manufacturer of battery teams, advises Gärtner to change the time of day that they mow their lawns in June, reports the Express.

He explained: “Never mow in the early morning, at noon or after dusk. In the morning, grass can still be wet. Mower is too hot and mowing after the dusk leaves its lawn susceptible to mushroom attacks.”

When is the best time of day to mow lawn in June?

Chris suggests that the late morning or middle of the afternoon is the ideal time. He added: “This is the best time to mow under optimal weather conditions without disturbing the local wild animals too much.”

Chris not only takes into account the time of day for mowing, but also recommends gardening to take into account the amount in which you mow your lawn. If the grass grows faster in June, gardeners have to adjust their cutting height of the mower so that they remove more every time.

To achieve this, simply reduce the cutting height of your mower and make sure that you never cut more than a third of the grass size. Chris also recommended that gardeners should mow their lawns every week in June, unless there are clear signs of “extreme drought”.
