Details: When building a large house on the beach, it is important to consider how the ongoing project affects the neighbors. It is also important to take into account that these neighbors could sometimes actually come out of the sea.
That was a big factor for the design of the “Contemporary Gulf Front Retreat”, when the old Beach House went down to make room for a conversion and redesign, and the company owner Randy Lee said that all light turtle had to be compliant so as not to affect their reproduction and egg lounger.
“If there is a lot of stray (and intensive) lighting, the turtles seem to be put on. So you can only use amber, orange and yellow coloring lighting“, Says Lee.
But Lee says that the property is much more than just lighting and the 3-foot sea wall to use wind and salt spray, the new salt-resistant plantings and a redesigned Patio Area complement the award -winning, modern aesthetics.
After more than two years of work, Randy Lee gained a gold price from the National Association of Landscape ProfessionsAwards of Excellence program for this project.
