The Heritage Business Center is a remarkable architectural achievement in the heart of Kyiv and represents the first phase of an ambitious urban renovation project that turns a steadfast district into a flourishing business district. This seven -story, 17,000 square meter structure embodies the profound dialogue between the past and the present and serves both as a functional trading area and as a symbolic bridge, which connects two eras of the city.
Designed by Aiix Studio Under the direction of the chief architect Oleksandr Bosenko, the legacy illustrates that minimalist European architecture is carefully integrated into Kyiv's historical urban structure.
The unmistakable facade of the building, which is dressed with the natural Jura limestone from Bavaria's renowned Solnhofen stone broken, tells stories that extend millions of years. Each stone slab contains fossilized organisms from old tropical lagoons, whereby ammonites and Belemnites create unique geological stories that are embedded in the foundation of the structure. This remarkable limestone comes from the same quarries, in which the world's largest pterodactylical remains were recently discovered, which the building connected with prehistoric sky over the original seas.
“We wanted to create a minimalist and reserved architecture that retains its details. It is European in style, but perfectly integrated into Kyiv's central historical district. Above all, the needs of the city prioritizes,” explains Bosenko.
Countless fossilized creatures are preserved within the structure of the limestone, whereby their old forms are now preventing modern architecture. The ammonites and Belemnites make every layer of stone completely unique and at the same time document some of the oldest known birds in the fossil protocols. The residents of Kyiv have the opportunity to admire the complicated patterns of 30 centimeters from the Jura period. The 500-ton facade transforms the building into a living museum, in which prehistoric oceans meet contemporary urban life, where every look upwards shows fragments of the oldest stories of the earth that are set in stone.
The inheritance represents the first phase of a comprehensive renovation initiative, in which approximately 100,000 square meters of some industrial and abandoned areas near the railway corridor of the city center are transformed into a living business district. The project prioritizes pedestrian transit and human-oriented environmental design and establishes new standards for urban commercial development. We used three types of Ukrainian granite as an accent on local natural materials and emphasized the geological heritage of the region and at the same time created a characteristic architectural identity that combines the development with its cultural and geographical context.
The interior design of the building shows a masterful selection of natural materials that embody timeless elegance. The lobby has walls that are dressed in Italian travertin classic antiquity and are celebrated for its soft patterns and characteristic gray-sand colors. The room is anchored by a monumental 7.5-meter stela, which was made from rare green marble, which was selected especially for its unique branch pattern, which is reflected in the logo of the business center by large white stripes A branding solution developed by Aiix Studio that transforms the corporate identity into architectural poetry.
A striking spiral staircase made of architectural concrete combines the main floor with the gallery on the second floor and serves both as a functional element and as a sculptural focus that improves the dynamic character of the room.
The open-plan layout of the building offers unprecedented flexibility and submits various commercial applications from traditional office rooms to restaurants and event locations. The structure fully corresponds to the international accessibility standards and ensures that universal design principles are seamlessly integrated.
With its combination of sustainable design practices, historical sensitivity and contemporary functionality, the cultural heritage Business Center is building a new paradigm for commercial architecture in Ukraine capital and demonstrates how thoughtful design honor and the future bravely.
The successful completion of the project is proof of resistance and continuity and embodies the essence of his name, inheritance, as a bridge between the past and the future.
