Terrace House, A Austin Maynard Architects project defines sustainable city life in Brunswick. These multi-resident development in the Sydney Road is designed in such a way that it is fossil freedom of fuel and focuses on thermal efficiency. The Shade factor offered a tailor -made shading solution for the project that was integrated to meet the regulatory standards and at the same time improve the playful but robust design of the building.
The architecture is inspired by Brunswick's industrial colloquial language, which contains recycled brick, tubular steel arches and a metal network facade that supports the green of climbing and creates a striking contrast to the surrounding urban environment. The design prioritizes sustainability, whereby each house benefits from passive design principles, external views, private verands and access to a common garden on the roof on the roof.
In order to continue to support the performance of the building, Warema Terrrea K50 Folding ARM Cassette-Markises and vertical awnings with cables with cables for their functionality and aesthetic effects were selected. Shade Factor worked with Austin Maynard Architects and the fire engineers to ensure that the blinds meet the security and arson requirements through a performance solution. These awnings automated with sensor systems enable residents to control daylight and minimize the gain in the heat and to improve comfort while reducing energy consumption. This shading solution plays a crucial role in the dynamic facade and the passive design strategy of the building and ensures a sustainable and pleasant life experience.
