Huge structural wooden pavilions: large ring
Japanese design firm Sou Fujimoto Architects has just given the official insight into the ongoing construction process of the Great Ring. This is a large wooden structure that surrounds the pavilions at the upcoming Expo 2025 in Osaka. The images show the process being built on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka Bay ahead of the international fair.

The studio's founder, Sou Fujimoto, speaks of the event as a change for “wonderful unity” in a time of global instability. He told Dezeen: “Exhibitions express all the beauty of each country and then stay there for six months. And I think this format is very valuable, especially in this crisis of the global situation.”
