Huhtamaki separates the Europa-Asia-Ozeania business segment for fiber food service into two different business segments: fiber packaging and food service Europe-Asia-Ozeania. The change is expected to be effective from April 1, 2025.
“We divide our fiber -food service business into two different business segments to enable our teams to operate our customers more efficiently. This strategic movement positions us for profitable growth by giving the companies accountability and increasing the speed of execution in a change in a change in the field. It will support our goal of being the first choice in sustainable packaging, “says Ralf K. Wunderlich, President and CEO of Huhtamaki.
The business segments were integrated in 2020. In the external reporting, the companies were still reported separately, and this change will not affect external reporting. The combination of the company in 2020 achieved the initially predicted synergies and foundations for growth by confiscating promising market opportunities.
“By concentrating on your own specialist areas again, both segments can drive innovation more effectively. The segments will continue to work in close cooperation in development areas, including the important smooth fiber technology. This change will also ensure that Huhtamaki's strategic goals match, since we can rationalize processes and clarify responsibilities, ”says Ralf K. Wunderlich.
Both segments will have their own presidents, which will be part of the global management team. Sara Engber (56) was appointed president, fiber packaging and member of the global management team at Huhtamaki. Fredrik Davidsson continues as a member of the global management team as President Foodservice Europe-Asia-Ozeania.
The separation of companies may be subject to potential legal consultation requirements.
