Human-centered technology management for a sustainable future

Human-centered technology management for a sustainable future

This proceedings contains selected papers from the 33rd Conference of the International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT), held in Porto, Portugal, July 8-11, 2024. It is the second volume of a three-volume series of conference proceedings focusing on technologies for a sustainable future. The book examines the challenges and opportunities in today's social and business landscape and addresses innovative and disruptive concepts. With a particular focus on the role of technologies, we will examine how they enable novel approaches to solving current problems. The volume shows that technologies that follow the principles of Industry 5.0 can go far beyond productivity and economic gains and contribute to the benefit and comfort of human workers. It also highlights the need for a human-centered approach to using technology to adapt production processes to workers' needs while ensuring that the introduction of new technologies does not violate workers' fundamental rights.
