Inside to designer long strengths of Paris Foot-à-Terre

Whoever spent a month, week nor a day in Paris and dreamed of it, one day, key in hand, to return to a left bank of the bank? While such romantic ideas can be almost universal, only a few are lucky enough to actually realize them. Not so for designer Fawn Galli, who spent a year in the 20s in the 20s in the city of the lights in the 20s, her dream -Parisian apartment has just taught the finishing touch.

“Paris has always been something special for me,” enthuses the designer based in New York. “When I lived there in my 20s, I always thought that one day I will make it big and get back and buy a place in Paris. But when I finally returned to the States, I forgot it and went on. “For Galli, progress meant its now blooming design career – for the first time for industrial giants like Robert am Stern and Peter Marino and later put on her own namesake company, where she cultivated a committed followers for her versatile style and bold use.

After a few decades of hard work, this dream of Paris came back. “My son went to college and the dollar was strong, so I said to myself: I will finally do it – I'll go to Paris and buy an apartment,” says Galli. At first she introduced herself a petite Pied-à-Terrre. A bedroom-maybe two-in a central arrondissement like the 5 .. but on a hurricane weekend, on which she looked at four different apartments within a day, she found her dream house: an apartment with three bedrooms near Saint-Germain-Per-Prés.

She was fell in love with the intrusive carved cornices, honey-colored herringbone parquet floors and beautifully carved woodenboisery and kept as much of the original architecture as possible in her design. With the help of the local architecture firm studio, she put on the original details and refreshed the layout to add an additional bedroom and opened the once -acted space to let the golden paris daylight influence.
