Iran to organize intl. Lut Desert Tourism Conference focuses on investments, sustainability

Tehran – An international conference on tourism in the Iranian Lut -Desert will focus on investments and sustainable development, an official from the province of Tourism said on Wednesday.

Seyyed Ahmad Barabadi, General Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of the Province of South Khorasan, said the event aims to convert the challenges of the desert conditions into possibilities for the attraction of investors.

“The main goal of this conference is to create a platform to introduce the Lut desert's capacities in domestic and foreign investors,” said Barabadi on Wednesday by the conference's political council.

Barabadi described Lut as one of the largest and most unique deserts in the world and highlighted its potential both as a natural ecosystem and as opportunities for economic and tourist opportunities. He said targeted investments in natural -based tourism, ecotourism and related industries could help transform environmental threats into the drivers of economic growth.

He added that sustainable development in tourism in the desert would not only strengthen the local economy, but would also support the preservation of natural resources and the cultural heritage in the region.

“The LUT desert with its remarkable landscapes and unique features can become an international tourism goal if we focus in a focused way,” said Barabadi.

The LUT desert listed by the UNESCO, which spans parts of the southeast Iran, is known for its comprehensive dunes, the rough terrain and on striking documents, the scientists, adventurers and photographers from all over the world attract.

Lut considers the record to be one of the hottest places on earth, with the recorded temperatures reaching a scorching 70.7 degrees Celsius. In addition to its barren appearance, the property is a port for a surprising selection of plant and animal life, which has clearly adapted to survive these hard conditions.

In addition, the scorching desert is one of the top areas in the world due to its unique parameters to find meteorites. In recent years, the efforts of the national and international research teams have been made significant results.
