A large conversion project of 99 Crore to completely revise the Kumbakonam station will be ready for implementation in the coming months.
The Southern Railway has made a tender to identify an agency for the work of the work.
The project was proposed by the Ministry of Railway, making the Southern Railway a consultant for preparing the master plan. A senior rail officer said that a comprehensive detailed project report (DPR) was created, which covered the master plan, the design method, the traffic survey, the commercial development, the sustainable design, the landscape design, the intelligent features, the construction methods as well as the social and ecological effects.

Giri, secretary of the District Railway Users Association.
