Cam Ranh International Airport Landscape Design from LJ Group

Landscape architecture studio LJ groups designs the outdoor areas of the international airport Cam Ranh in Vietnam. The development leads to a pronounced approach for Airport Landscape designgo beyond conventional transit environments. The new airport terminal, which was designed by CPG in Singapore, contains over 4.8 million visitors annually, with future expansion doubling this capacity.

The 10 -hectare location integrates various spatial scales and ensures a coherent visual experience for passengers that arrive by plane, car or foot. The landscape design reflects the natural features of the province of Khanh Hoa, with organic forms and carefully arranged elements that shape the first impression of the visitor in the region.

Organic shapes form the open waiting and the social zones of the airport

Landscape architects At the LJ group, they organize the pedestrian-friendly public space at the terminal entrance as the main feature of the project. This area is designed in such a way that several circulation flows are accommodated and open zones for waiting and social interaction are maintained at the same time. Large, curved seating and shading structures made from bamboo and metal are positioned in an irregular arrangement. The placement of shading elements is deliberately balanced and creates changing areas of sun and shadow. This dynamic layout encourages users to deal with the room by setting their seating options all day.

The landscape design extends towards the motorcycle parking lot and contains a selection of coastal plant species that reinforce the local identity. By integrating functional circulation into flexible assembly areas, the international development of CAM's international airport moves from the traditional conventions for airport draft and prioritizes a more appealing and human environment and at the same time meets the infrastructure and transport requirements.
