Master of non -profit management and management celebrates the 10th anniversary

Graduates, students, employees and faculties recently gathered to celebrate the 10TH Anniversary of the Master of Non -Profit Leadership and Management Program (MNLM) at the USC Price School of Public Policy.

MNLM one of the few programs of its kind in the nation offers experts in the middle of the career the opportunity to build leadership qualities and decision skills, with the focus on strengthening organizations, changing systems and the difference in the communities. More than 160 students earned an MNLM in May 2025, with another cohort doing this.

For example, one of the MNLM -Alumna, who took part in the celebration, ifunanya nweke, has an organization called Jazz Hands for Autism, which teaches people with autism, how to play music and even develop careers in the industry.

Another group of alumni leads national efforts to prevent suicide. Another other is working on the protection of health care for women at Planned Parenthood.

In the meantime, current MNLM students, such as funds who are provided by a foundation set up by the band Metallica, will examine adults to receive training in the trades. The project known as Capstone is managed by Associate Professor Nicole Esparza and offers students the opportunity to work on the challenges in real life.

“Our students examine how these funds helped the students across the country because they help the foundation to achieve the best return on capital,” said Regina Birdsell, director of MNLM. “Interestingly, the band members have built up their own money and then asked the fans to make a contribution. They admit whether they would not be lucky enough to end up in music that they would have worked with their hands.”
