Missed ex-green basket cap, which is dismembered, woman is charged with murder

The wife of a former Green Beret, who was missing in January, was charged because of his murder after his body was dismembered in a pond near her house in North Carolina.

Shana Cloud was arrested last week due to the first degree murder and disguise death in connection with the murder of Clinton Bonnell, said Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Bonnell, a 50-year-old former doctor in the US Army special units, disappeared shortly after he had announced Cloud that he planned to make a divorce.

Bonnell was reported to be missing on January 28, after he missed separate inquiries about Wellness -Checks by his girlfriend and a faculty member at Methodist University, where he was enrolled into the school's medical assistant program.

According to reports, he did not appear for class this morning after writing an SMS the night before to say that he informed the cloud about his divorce plans. According to court files, his girlfriend sent a picture to his phone the next morning, but the text “did not deliver”.

Cloud Bonnell ever refused to go home on the night of January 27, although his vehicle was found there with his personal objects for the officials who carried out a wellness check.

Almost a month later, on February 25, the Sheriff office received a call about human remains, which were discovered in a pond about 3 miles from the house. The public prosecutor's office of Cumberland County later confirmed that the body was “just an upper body” and “had no legs or weapons or a head”. It was found with two gunshot wounds.

Due to the state of the remains, the authorities could not immediately identify the body. On March 28, however, DNA tests confirmed that the upper body Bonnell was a match.

Cloud was later taken into custody that day and is recorded without bond.

Your next trial is planned for mid -April. If Cloud is found guilty about the murder of her husband, he could be faced with the death penalty.

A spokesman for the army told the Fayetteville Observer that Bonnell served in the Special Forces between 2004 and 2024. He got into the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring on December 31.
