New Mid Wales Environmentally friendly vacation cabin promote sustainability

A vacation retreat opened its doors in Mid Wales and gave the guests the opportunity to relax in nature and at the same time find sustainability and wild animals.

The Quabbs cabin is located on a remote sheep farm in Rhos y Meirch, Knighton, the passion for the owner Paul and Steph Macdonald, a construction company and geography teacher with a common love for nature, nature conservation and farm diversification.

The cabin was carefully designed with environmentally conscious travelers, using repurposed materials and elements outside the grid are used to create a rustic but luxurious escape.

“Quabbs Cabin is committed to sustainability and offers an environmentally conscious retreat with repeated materials and network -independent touch.” said Steph.

“Four -legged friends are welcome, with miles of picturesque hiking trails that start right on the doorstep.

“We want our guests to really connect with the landscape, whether that discovered the darkest sky from the wood-whirlpool, which discovers rare wild animals or simply enjoy the calm and calm of the landscape.”

The cabin was designed as a place to switch off and relax and has a handmade bed with a view of the meadow, a copper bath, a wooden whirlpool and an all-round veranda.

Guests are encouraged to explore the rich biodiversity of the area, with Steph's background in geography and ecology inspiring a focus on wildlife photo. From red dragons, the high -flying overheads to hard -grapping otters in the nearby streams, the place offers a refuge for nature lovers.

The Macdonalds has a herd of 55 Pedigree Zwartbles sheep on her 16 hectare farm, which you bought five years ago. Steph comes from an agricultural background while Paul grew up in the country.

Steph does not write the cabin, but also writes the quabbs blog, in which she shares insights into country life, the seasonal wild animals, hiking trails and the hidden jewels by Mid Wales.

“I love to write the quabbs blog that helps people explore the fantastic landscape and nature on our doorstep. There is so much to discover what goes beyond the well-driven paths, and I would like to encourage visitors to slow down and to absorb everything.”

The previous reaction was mostly positive, and the guests took the opportunity to experience an environmentally friendly stay in such a quiet environment.

“We are pleased that all weekends have been booked since we were opened in January.” Steph added.

The Quabbs cabin was also recognized by the Guardian for his unique and sustainable approach for the holiday accommodation.

Quabbs Cabin is a member of PMWT Cymru (Mid Wales Tourism), an independent member organization that represents 600 tourism and hospitality companies in Powys, Ceredigion and Southern Eryri (Snowdonia).
