While traveling to Durango last week, I noticed a simple mistake someone made that just didn't make sense.
South of Farmington Hill on Highway 550, the most recent project installed full-length deer fencing and, for a variety of reasons, added gates in places to allow access.
I noticed that one of the gates was wide open and a deer had been attacked on the highway right in front of it.
For all the money that has been spent to prevent this very incident, an open gate will simply funnel them onto the highway, effectively making the fence a waste. Unfortunately, you see this so often in many places when you travel.
