Opportunity to restore the cultural heritage building

The Tamworth Regional Council 2025-2026 Heritage Assistance Grant is now important for the restoration of heritage buildings or those with a share of $ 50,000.

The representative of the Heritage representatives of the Tamworth Regional Council Heritage, Marc Sutherland, said, “This scholarship is an initiative of the Council that supports the owners of Heritage properties and improves their buildings and continues the legacy of the cultural heritage.”

The scholarship was set up over thirty years ago and is continued today with the support of the NSW government. It is available for both residential buildings and commercial buildings.

The scholarship covers works such as external painting, structural work, maintenance, repair and exchange of certain characteristics such as veranda, roofs, fences and decorative details.

“I encourage owners of all real estate either in residential areas or in commercial districts, directly in our region to apply for this grant. It can provide great financial support for the implementation of these works that ultimately help to maintain the inheritance and character of our region,” said Cr Sutherland.

The subsidy is shared by authorized applicants and can in some cases deliver dollar-for-dollar financial agents.

Applications are assessed by the Council Heritage Working Group, and successful applicants will be notified by mid -August, whereby the projects can be completed by April 2026.

Appropriate applicants must be able to demonstrate their ability to demonstrate the project in the specified time frame (technically and financially).

Successful applicants with completed work are also nominated for the Tamworth Regional Heritage Awards 2026, which take place as part of the Tamworth Regional Heritage Festival 2026.
