Give your garden a head start on spring by planning ahead this fall. Megan from That Perennial Place in Morris recently joined us to tell us why now is the perfect time to think about next year's landscaping projects.

“Fall is the best time to start planning,” Megan explained. “Our spring schedule typically fills up pretty quickly, so booking now will ensure you have a spot reserved. When the weather gets warmer, we'll already be fully booked, so it's better to start our schedule early.”

That Perennial Place offers complete landscaping design and installation, with each project starting as a hand-drawn, custom design tailored specifically to each property. “From new plantings and garden beds to landscaping accents, our goal is to create a unique outdoor space that feels personal to you,” said Megan. “No two designs are alike.”

Consultations are an important part of the process. “During your consultation, we walk through your outdoor space, talk about your goals, and then I can put together a hand-drawn design that shows how everything fits together,” she noted. “You can actually see your future landscape on paper before work begins, making it easy to customize and refine the design to your liking.”

According to Megan, fall is the ideal time to plan because it allows time to finalize designs, make material selections and secure a site for installation in the spring. “So when spring comes, you’re on the front lines and ready to go,” she said.

To begin, contact That Perennial Place at 815-942-2235 or email thatperennialplace@gmail.com to schedule a consultation.

“Don’t wait for spring to think about your landscape,” Megan advised. “Plan now and you’ll be ready to enjoy a beautiful outdoor space once the weather warms up.”
