For Iberia, a four-tower residential complex, which was recently approved for the 450-466 Market Street and 31-39 Jefferson Street in the Ironbound district of Newark, New Jersey, new renderings were announced. The development of $ 803 million designed by MHS Architecture is between 26 and 30 floors high and 1,402 rental units, with 283 for apartments with low incomes. The complex will also contain more than 100,000 square meters of residential applications. The property is bound to Market Street and the Raymond Boulevard in the northeast, the congress road in the northwest, the Jefferson Street in the southeast and the Ferry Street in the southwest.

The project is named after the former Portuguese Iberia Tavern & Restaurant, which is operated for almost half a century at the western end of the city block.

Outdoor reversals show a contemporary facade that uses a mixture of widespread windows, metal paneling and a brick veneer above the large parking garage podium.

The residential facilities in Iberia include a fitness and wellness center, coworking areas, active and quiet seating areas and a pool deck with a view of the Passaic River. Each building has green roofs and terraces on the roof.

All four buildings are connected to the five-story parking garage podium. Of the 620 parking spaces, 150 are intended for public use with 93 for EV charging. The parking garage will be accessible from two entrances along Jefferson Street.

The site is four blocks east of the Newark Penn Station and offers access to the Networks New Jersey Transit and Amtrak Rail as well as the way to Jersey City and New York City.

The Newark Central Planning Board unanimously approved the project on March 3. Iberia has been the largest proposed development for Newark's Ironbound quarter in several decades, and construction could break the ground next year. If work progresses on schedule, the complex can be completed before the end of the decade.
