Rewild Long Island and PWWD organize the fourth sustainable garden trip

After the enormous success of the events of the past few years and the port of Washington Peninsula on water protection, the Port Washington Water District (PWWD) will again bring together with Rewild Long Island to bring the Port Washington community to its fourth annual sustainable garden tour on Saturday, June 14th. Show on Saturday. Campaign that includes the community in dialogue and measures to maintain and protect the drinking water.

“The lawn culture of Long Island is dominated by grass and non-home plants, but does not have to be that way,” said Raju Rajan, President of the Board of Directors of Rewild Long Island. “Your home can be just as beautiful if it is decorated by environmentally friendly local plants. This is exactly what we try to highlight the sustainable garden tour. We look forward to another successful event on June 14th!”

The residents can enjoy a variety of biological diversity and sustainable gardens with bird and pollinating-friendly locals, strategies for reducing their lawn boat, composting, organic fruits and vegetables, intelligent sprinklers and much more. The guests will take up ideas to create an excellent garden that consumes less water and less chemicals and at the same time saves time and money. Spots on the tour quickly fill up, so interested residents should register soon.

“The sustainable garden tour has become a characteristic event for the Port Washington Water District and Rewild Long Island, which offers residents a seat inside for breathtaking landscapes with low water that were created by their neighbors,” said Mindy Germain, commissioner of PWWD. “With every tour we see more people who are inspired to do it for port by accepting beautiful, water-related garden practices. It is a strong memory that the preservation at home begins-and it can be both practical and breathtaking.”

The sustainable garden tour 2025 begins at 9:00 a.m. and the park details and instructions are exhibited after registration. To register for the tour, please visit www.pwwd.org/gardentour2025.

The residents are encouraged to visit www.rewildlongisland.org in order to learn more about sustainable gardening, upcoming activities and opportunities.
