Somec, a company based in San Vendemiano (Treviso, Italy) specializing in the design, production and installation of complex turnkey construction and marine structures, through its US subsidiary Fabbrica LLC – part of the Horizons division, technical systems for shipbuilding and civil facades – has concluded a contract for the construction of the facade of a hospital building in Hartford, Connecticut (USA). The total value of the agreement is $29 million and the economic impact is expected between the second half of 2026 and 2027.
The project
The project is a nine-story building that is part of a long-standing health complex dedicated to training, research and high specialization in surgery for more than a century. It is a mast that is considered a landmark of the city of Hartford and the state of Connecticut.
In detail, Fabbrica will develop – from support to design and engineering – a tailor-made curtain wall system of more than 11,000 square meters, characterized by high technical content and a particular architectural impact, whose realization is planned in 2026-2027.
Oscar Marchetto, President of the Somec Group, emphasizes: “It gives us deep pride to be increasingly chosen for initiatives aimed at people's health and medical research. Through our work we combine technology, functionality and beauty, aware that healthcare also needs places that can welcome and improve the lives of those who live it every day. Our architectural and technical skills, together with leading partners, are also reflected in this vision. For Fabbrica and the entire Somec Group, this order represents a new opportunity to express the experiences we have gained.” in prestigious projects in North America, an area that has always recognized us as reliable and innovative protagonists.”
