NFL: Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes as the Dallas Cowboys cruised past the Las Vegas Raiders 33-16 on Monday night and kept their slim playoff hopes alive.

Prescott completed 25 of 44 passes for 288 yards, helping the Cowboys improve their season record to 4-5-1, with the Philadelphia Eagles among their toughest opponents up front. Meanwhile, the Raiders suffered their eighth loss of the year.

HORSE RACING: Amateur jockeys Tommie O'Brien, Daisy Warden and Harry O'Dwyer were handed seven-day bans after they misunderstood instructions and stopped riding at the start of a National Hunt race in Plumpton on Monday.

A black and white flag was waved and a whistle sounded to signal that driving should be done with caution after the first three barriers were removed from the track for safety reasons.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Chet Holmgren led the way with 26 points as defending NBA champion Oklahoma City cruised to a 126-109 victory in New Orleans on Tuesday morning and remains atop the Western Conference.

The Detroit Pistons defeated Indiana 127-112 to lead the Eastern Conference. The Dallas Mavericks' poor start to the season continued with a 96-120 loss at Minnesota, while Chicago picked up a surprising 130-127 win at the Denver Nuggets.

MEN'S CRICKET: Ireland trail 1-0 heading into the second leg of their two-Test series against Bangladesh in Dhaka tomorrow morning.

In the first match last week, they suffered a comprehensive innings and 47-run defeat after opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored 177 in Bangladesh's huge total of 587-8.

Ireland are currently the 10th best Test team in the world, just one place behind Bangladesh.
