In a recently carried out maintenance update, the skylights work over the arcades on both sides of the Main Street, USA in Disneyland Paris, after years of non-operation.

In a post on X, @DlPreport announced that the “fake” skylights in Disneyland Paris are now in operation in the Liberty and Discovery Arcades. The French term “Arcade” means roughly a covered passage of shops or stands on both sides, in contrast to the game definition of an arcade.
The fake skylights that line the ceiling of the discovery and Liberty arcades have been repaired and are now switched on after a few years. When this effect is in operation, it illuminates the ceiling with somewhat “natural” light from the “windows”. In fact, both arcades are included within larger building structures.

The Liberty Arcade enables guests to explore the history of the Statue of Liberty. Historical photographs, works of art and representation illustrate the beginning and construction of Lady Liberty “in a story that connects France with the United States of America”.

The discovery arcade of this interior enables guests to explore the golden age of the invention with scale models of some of the largest, groundbreaking creations of the 19th century. With human hope and innovation, “ingenious patents are devoted to dreams of a utopian world that can discover guests.”
For comparison, the skylights or not operational are switched off in both images of the Disneyland Paris website shown above. In this case, the ceiling seems to be covered with a simple green and gray roof plate.
Disneyland Paris recently also confirmed the return of his one million color parade. The parade, which debuted for the first time in 2024, will return in February 2026. It was not confirmed whether the parade with its original run will be identical or some changes for version 2026 will be displayed.
